It's with deepest sadness that I write this e-mail. My dear mother, Dolores "Dee" Spirk, was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer on Monday. She had an MRI yesterday to see if the cancer has spread to her brain. It has been extremely shocking as my mom is the most active, vivacious, beautiful 78 year old you would ever meet. They said that surgery or radiation would kill her so the only option would be chemo to prolong her life. She is not really wanting to do chemo - as she wants quality of life for these last months. The Dr. said that life expectancy without chemo would be 2 - 12 months. They brought in oxygen on Thursday - along with giving her sleeping pills.
I'd like to ask for your prayers and a miracle if God's willing.
Thanks for your friendship.
God's Blessings,
Julie
When you pray, ask for the big blessings. God will do whatever pleases Himself, but many times in the Old Testament He changed His mind about things. Ask boldly in faith that He hears and blesses.

peace through each day.
I am now home and recovering (more slowly than I would like, I need to let go of my own timetable) and the drama and the danger seem to all be in the rear view mirror.
I guess God is not through with me yet. I just need to figure out what He wants me to do!
Love you.
Please ask for stamina for her husband, peace and joy for her daughters and grandchildren, and a complete healing of this heinous sickness that has invaded her life.
I am so thankful to have my new job!
Please remember Allison every day and I will advise the date and hospital for her next operation. Thank you for your faithfulness.
Most of you have heard by now that Montana Lance, Jason and Debbie's 9-year old son, apparently took his own life at school Thursday. There simply are no words to sum up our grief--or take any of the pain away from this family that is so dear to the hearts of all of us. When one of us grieves we all grieve...and Serenity Church is grieving deeply today. All of us are frantic to "do something" and I promise to let you all know immediately when there's a need we can fill. As soon as funeral arrangements are finalized we will get word to you right away.
In the meantime, hold up Jason, Debbie, Dooley and their whole family to our Father who loves them...and loves Montana...so fiercely. As always, we will bear each others burdens and walk through this together... JOHN
My heartfelt thanks to each of you for the prayers, cards, love and support you have shown to my family and me during my son Steve's hospital stay and his Heavenly Homecoming. I continue to covet your prayers in the weeks and months ahead and especially during this Holy Season of Christmas. I thank God for all of you.
In Christ's Love,

Wednesday morning for the removal of her swollen lymph node. Please keep her and all of us in prayer.
Nadia had to have an emegency C-section today and the baby is only 28 weeks old. May God give them a healthy baby girl and the peace of knowing that even though she is tiny, she will be OK.
Cordell died in a drowning accident yesterday at Lake Ray Roberts. Cordell was 13 (some newspapers say 13 and some say 14, so I looked back at my records and I think 13 is right) and swimming off the beach when his mom, Brenda, realized she couldn't see him any more.
Cordell had moved back to Flower Mound and was being homeschooled and attending Flower Mound Baptist Church. His grandparents still go to Faith, though, and we last saw Cordell when he visited just a couple of months ago -- he visited Faith a couple of times a year (10:00 service) and was always so happy to be back with all of us. If you remember, Cordell had many surgeries for cleft palate and lots of family changes in his life, yet was always cheerful and faithful.
Please join me in praying for the whole family, and in remembering our dear, sweet friend. It is just horrible, but as sad as I am, I know that Cordell believed in Jesus with all his heart.
I don't know funeral arrangements yet, but if you're interested, tell me and I'll pass along what I hear. My mind is racing, trying to think of people that should know, so please feel free to forward this.
Lord, restore my father's health and comfort him during this time. Please be with him and give him strength as he heals. Amen.
God, thank you for keeping him in your loving arms. Be with Debbie and the girls for your comfort and strength through Steve's healing.
Amen

I ask that you would hold the bold, brave and beautiful women who so openly shared their fears and concerns tonight at our womens' bible study in your loving arms. You know who they are and what their needs are.
Everyone,
Thanks for all of the wonderful responses and we appreciate all of your prayers. Please do not stop now as this is going to get much worse before he begins to get better and we will finally beat this thing.
Dylan is in Integris Baptist Medical Center in Room # 730. He started his first round of chemotherapy last night about midnight and will get roughly 5 hours of treatments a day for 5 consecutive days. Today, they have moved up the schedule to begin at 5 pm so that maybe he can sleep better tonight. He will have to endure 4 cycles of 21 days each for this to work. After his first set, he may remain in the hospital for as long as 15 days but after that, beginning on Day #22, he should be able to take his treatments as an outpatient. The tumor has grown and is now roughly 5" X 5" and about 1.5" in thickness. It is over his entire left lung and has it collapsed so that he has no use of that lung. It is also placing significant pressure on his left pulmonary artery and the left side of his heart. He has a Non-gonadal Mediasteinal Non-seminomanous Germ Cell Tumor. The mass is very large when you consider the location. However, the good news is that this is a type of tumor that can shrink from therapy. Once the entire chemo cycle is completed, he will undergo surgery to remove any tumor that is remaining.
We appreciate all of you that have prayed for Dylan and we absolutely need you to continue. As always, please ask anyone you feel comfortable with to pray for him as well. I will try and keep everyone posted from time to time as we work our way through this.
We will get through this by the Grace of God and the generosity and support of friends and family.
Thank you all very much.

Personally I envy you in that creating a new community for God; you have a fresh start. You do not have to be encumbered by “we’ve never done it that way.” Don’t be afraid to try new things, different things. When you step out of your comfort zone that is when God does his best work. Let God lead and let the wind of the Holy Spirit blow through your community and permeate each and every soul.
May your blessings abound in your service to our Lord,

We pray for rest and recuperation from lingering colds/flu. We pray for strength and encouragement for each day. We pray for grace and comfort as dad walks through this final chapter of life.
Just wanted to send a quick note to let you know that City on a Hill (CoaH) is praying for you and will continue to help with prayer and encouragement as you embark on your God led journey. It was only 5 years ago we did the same here. Please accept our support in prayer and our encouragement that God is faithful!
God's Grace and Peace,
I am very glad to hear of your becoming a part of LCMC. As a fellow Texan, and a member of the LCMC Board of Trustees, let me take this opportunity to offer any encouragement or assistance I might be able to offer you. LCMC has been a great place for the congregation I serve, and I trust it will be for you, too. The Texas fellowship of LCMC congregations is meeting in Bulverde on January 15th. If there are any who would like to join us, please do so.
Once again, welcome.
In Christ,
